Kitchen Too Small

Does Your Kitchen Suck?
Let's face it, most kitchens suck. Their layout is either way too big (we'll cover that next time) or way too small. You know the problem. There's just no room. And I've had my share of tiny kitchens. I had one that was so small in an apartment once that I couldn't open two cabinet doors at the same time. Let alone there was no dish washer, or even room for the kitchen table in the kitchen. I had to spread my prep space out into the living room. But it taught me a valuable lesson that tiny 6 ft by 6 ft kitchen. There's always a solution.

So what do people normally think of doing when remodeling?
  • Add on. The kitchen's not big enough so lets add a new one on in the back yard. Great idea, except it might not be in your budget.
  • Move. But do you really want to move?
  • Live with it. Probably what you're doing right now and it's likely a nightmare to cook in.
Why is it a nightmare?

Likely you can't open the dishwasher and oven at the same time. Two people cooking might be completely out of the question. And when you've got guests over, lets just say you have to give them balcony seats. You know in the peanut gallery - AKA the living room where they might catch a glimpse of that feast your cooking. And what about your gadgets for your kitchen. You know the ones you actually use? Does the flow work for how you cook or is it just an inconvinence?
